Bestowing a perfect example of how one can strike a balance between one's directorial and acting career,
Satish Kaushik is one man who can boast with a great deal of conviction.
Yes, not only is he ready
with Tere Sang, a romantic venture dealing a sensitive issue of unmarried 15 year old getting pregnant, but he
is also ready with another international project featuring him. The film titled Road Movie has been directed by
Dev Benegal of English August and Split Wide Open fame.
The film has been produced by eminent producers Susan B. Landau and Ross Katz. Katz has won Best
Picture Academy Award Nomination for Sofia Coppola's Lost In Translation as well as Todd Field's In The
Bedroom.
Confirming the news with us Satish Kaushik says, "We are already done with the
shooting part which was in parts Rajasthan and Kutch and now the sound-mixing is going on in New York."
He goes on to add, "The story revolves around Abhay Deol who is a truck driver with an aim to
delivering goods at a particular destination. And on this journey on the highway he gets to meet very
interesting people among those is an experienced old man-jack of all trades played by me."
This international project also stars Abhay Deol and Tannishtha Chatterjee. Interestingly, Satish and
Tannishtha will be seen sharing a screen space yet again after the success of Brick Lane-the duo's first
international film.
Fortissimo Films and Studio 18 in India will together distribute Road Movie. The cast and crew of the film have
decided to show it in Venice film festival before releasing it in India.
