This, Harman discovered when he was asked by his director Ashutosh Gowariker to pitch in some lines for a song in What's Your Raashee?
When he reached the studio the recording the director and music composer Sohail Sen played him a track by a beautiful female voice.
"I was completely bowled over. My God! What a voice. And I couldn't recognize it. It was not Alka Yagnikji or Shreya Ghosal and it was certainly not Lataji. I asked who it was and I was told it was a new singer. I recorded my portion with much nervousness. Imagine. Matching up to a voice of that caliber."
It was only later that Harman got to know the singer was director Ashutosh Gowariker's sister Aslesha who's a lawyer by profession.
Says Hurrman, "I didn't know Ashu belongs to a family of singers. His mother Kishori Gowariker is a trained vocalist. Ashu sings and so does his sister. So I was basically asked to pitch my voice with a singer who knows her job."
When contacted Ashutosh admits his sister has sung in What's Your Raashee?
"Aslesha sang the song Aa le chal for my film. I could've brought her vocals out earlier. But there's a right time for everything. In What's Your Raashee I had the right situation for Aslesha."
The director's sister's voice will go on Priyanka Chopra during one of her 12 avatars in What's Your Raashee?
Says Ashutosh Gowariker, "The song occurs when Priyanka plays Nandini, the Scorpio. I hope listeners like my sister's voice."
