Though she was the familiar face in the fashion world but Yana hit the limelight with her raunchy Bijli song in E Niwas's Dum. As a result, this green eyes czech beauty is flodded with the offers from 'Apna Bollywood'. Be it David Dhawan or Sanjay Leela Bhansali, everyone is vying for her appearance in their films. Gupta is undeterred by the prospect of surrendering her catwalk crown.
"I am absolutely comfortable with the change. In fact I am enjoying it. I know I have a body many women would gladly kill for and it feels nice to have the whole country acknowledging it," she quips. Gupta, who replaced the delectable Lisa Ray as the face of Lakme cosmetics in India, believes that getting down and dirty on screen will not affect her new duties as brand ambassadress for Christain Dior watches. According to her: "The contract with Dior has clearly laid down terms and conditions that do not conflict with my other modelling and film assignments. Having modelled for Calvin Klein, Victoria's Secret, Nivea, Toyota, Honda and Sony, I have a great deal of experience in handling my commercial interests. As far as item songs in Hindi films are concerned, they are fun to do and fetch anything between Rs 1.5 to 3 lakhs. What more could one ask for?"
Despite the rave reviews for Dum, the Czech Republic's most famous export since supermodels Eva Herzigova and Daniela Pestova realizes she has a distinct handicap when it comes to acting. "What I have to offer in terms of oomph and glamour is offset by the fact that Hindi is not my natural language. And till I overcome this barrier, I will remain a misfit in Bollywood", she says.
