Asin, who has always expressed a desire to work SRK after having worked with Salman and Aamir Khan, recently turned down Farah Khan's offer. Farah had asked her if she wanted to do her film, Happy New Year opposite Shah Rukh but Asin refused.

Farah has been in touch with her ever since Asin appeared on Farah's show.

Farah had asked to think about the offer carefully. Asin was very keen on it at the beginning but she spoke to her father and then refused the offer citing date issues.

"Ever since Asin appeared on Farah's show Tere Mere Beach Mein, they have been in touch. When Farah offered her the role, initially Asin was quite excited. But she eventually refused Farah's film.

She conveyed that the dates which Farah needed would be clashing with her other assignments " says a source.

Now that Asin is out of the race for the female lead in Happy New Year, the other top Bollywood heroines, Priyanka Chopra, Kareena Kapoor and Deepika Padukone are all eyeing the role.
