The filmmaker was felicitated by film festival director Kim Dong-ho Friday.
"You have to prove that you're good once again. You're only as good as your last film, " Chopra said in a brief acceptance speech.
Chopra's production house Yash Raj Films also had a strong presence at PIFF considering his popular films, including "Lamhe", "Dhoom 2", "Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi" and "New York", were showcased in a retrospective section at the fest.
Kabir Khan, who directed "New York", which is about three friends and the impact of 9/11 on their friendship, was also present at the event.
PIFF, one of the largest film festivals in Asia, is being held Oct 8-16.
