You may call it an irony of fate. Finally, when Neetu Kapoor has started to develop a fondness for Deepika Padukone, son Ranbir Kapoor is having tough time keeping his love affair afloat with the dusky beauty.

We hear that the young couple is having endless tiffs these days sparking unsavoury rumours of an impending break-up. After one such showdown on Sunday night, Ranbir left for Rajneeti shooting.

The couple even did not attend Karan Johar's fashion show. They were seen together later in the evening at designer Shabina Khan's bash but on looking at their face one could easily detect the stress in their relationship.

Deepika however feels that Ranbir is not committed towards her. Confirming the news a tabloid quoted a source as saying, "Everyone knows that Neetu never really approved of Deepika for her son even though Ranbir tried and succeeded, to a large extent, to make his mom thaw towards his girl.

Deepika somewhere felt that Ranbir wasn't making a commitment to her, even though she was fully committed to the relationship because he was waiting for mommy's approval."

Everyone around them is wondering if this is the beginning of the end. But a friend of the actress says, "They are together. Fights happen in every relationship. This is the eighth time that everyone's convinced they are heading for a split. But it's all fine. They've patched up."
