Akshar Media Productions forthcoming film The Hangman stars Om Puri, Shreyas Talpade and Gulshan Grover. The Hangman would've marked Shreyas's debut venture but due to the long delay in the release, Shreyas was launched in Iqbal- which instantly fetched him recognition.

Nevertheless, The Hangman is Shreyas Talpade's first English film. Like in Iqbal, Shreyas will be again seen playing an intense role in The Hangman which is set to release on January 29.

The Hangman is an unconventional drama film based on the trauma of a man Shiva (Om Puri) who is subjected to social wrath and hatred because of his profession. Most of the people around him detest him as a result of which he is forced to live a lonely life.

His only hope is his son Ganesh (Shreyas Talpade) and Shiva sends him away for higher studies. As luck would have it, an accident takes place and plagues Shiva's life again. He prepares for a hanging but this one would prove to be like none of the hundred, which he had performed before.
