Just when your hopes start falling, after listening to the cacophony of 'Garv' and 'Mujhse Shaadi Karogi', Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy come like whiff of fresh air along with Javed Akhtar and make you fall in love with love again.
With their zappy tunes they take you on the journey of denials, resistance and then eventually falling in love. You can feel the zest when Shankar Mahadevan, Vijay Praksh, Mahakaxmi and Sneha Pant croon 'Pyaar Mein Sau Uljhanein', the opening track of the album.
With its marching beats it takes over you in no time and before you realise you're tapping your feet.
If that was too fast for you, fasten your seat belts, here comes Shankar Mahadevan, Kunal Ganjawala et al in 'No no, Kyun! ho gaya na!'. What amazes you is Javed Akhtar not only coping but actually delivering some meaningful words to such fast paced songs.
'Aao naa' is a mellifluous song by Sadhana Sargam and Udit Narayan where Akhtar get the maximum scope to weave the magic with his pen and the veteran exploit it to the hilt.
The boastful 'Main hoon' by Shaan and Sunidhi Chauhan is not exactly the high point of the album but it manages to save the tempo, which rocks throughout the album, with its zany rhythm and conversational lyrics.
If you're still reluctant to fall in love, listen to Chetan Shahital, who tries (??) to imitate Bachchan's baritone in 'Baat Samjha Karo'. It may sound good with the movie but here, Naaaaaah........
To wrap up the album Mahadevan himself croons mellow but soulful 'Dheere Dheere'. As the song progresses, you tend to understand why Javed Akhtar and Shankar make a rocking combination.
To sum it all, this Sameer Karnik's directorial debut has a music you don't tend to hear much these days. I bet you'll fall in love with this album.
Kyun! Ho gaya na!
