Two filmmakers making a film on the same subject is not uncommon in Bollywood. Ajay Devgan's A Legend of Bhagat
Singh, and Bobby Deol's Shaheed, both on the life of slain hero Bhagat Singh were released around the same time.
Once more, two filmmakers have chosen the same premise for their movies; the life of legendary artist Kishore Kumar.
Directors Anurag Basu, and Shashanka of Quick Gun Murugan fame, will be making a biopic on his life. Kishore
Kumar was a man of many talents – singer, actor, composer and filmmaker.
His personal life, too, was
interesting as he was married to the iconic beauty of Indian cinema, Madhubala. While Basu's film will explore his
many facets, Shashanka's film will speak about the love between him and Madhubala.
Our reporter was told
that he wished to depict the love of a man who marries a woman knowing that she will die in a few years. He has
already approached superstar Aamir Khan to play the crooner.
Anurag is keen to cast the dashing Ranbir Kapoor and the lovely Katrina Kaif as the star couple. This will be his
second film with Ranbir after Silence, where he stars opposite Priyanka Chopra.
He will also have Kishore
Kumar's son, Amit Kumar, doing the playback for the film. Incidentally, Kishore Kumar's younger son, Sumeet, sang a
version of Kishore's 'Bachna Ae Haseenon' for Ranbir.
If things work out, Ranbir will find himself pitted against
the perfectionist Aamir Khan! It'll be a clash between the veteran and the newbie. We're sure the Aamir-Ranbir face-off
will be eagerly anticipated!
