They are not just cool, but they maintain their consistency and churn out successful number after successful number. Unlike other duos, they aren't brothers but the best of friends and get along with each other well.

Recently, Shekhar credited most of their success to his best buddy Vishal. He expressed that it has been a worthwhile journey for him so far indeed and he has learnt a lot from Vishal. He holds Vishal responsible for making him into a better human being and also a better composer.

They have scored music for a number of films, like Om Shanti Om, Tara Rum Pum, Salaam Namaste, Dus, Bluffmaster, Tashan, Bachna Ae Haseeno and Dostana, and the music for all these films have done well. They shot to fame after they composed the music for Jhankaar Beats, which also fetched them the Filmfare RD Burman Award for New Music Talent.

Vishal is also a part of popular rock band Pentagram. At present, both of them are working on the music of films like I Hate Luv Stories and Anjaana Anjaani. The title track of I Hate Luv Stories has also been performed by Vishal and Shekhar can't stop gushing over it.
