'Kyun! Ho Gaya Na' is a love story revolving around how its two main protagonists Diya Malhotra(Aishwarya Rai) and Arjun Khanna (Vivek Oberoi) meet. Diya has had a rough childhood and has been brought up by a close family friend Malhotra (Tinnu Anand), after his wife passed away..

She meets a friend of the Malhotras, Raj Chauhan (Amitabh Bachchan), when she goes to Mumbai where she ends up staying in Arjun's home with his parents -- who are friends of both Raj and the Malhotras.

Standing at the opposite end of the spectrum on many things but closely identifying with their amore for each other, these main protagonists will end up asking, 'Kyun! Ho Gaya Na Pyar'.

Vivek plays the lovable happy-go-lucky guy next door, 21st century in everything except on the issue of arranged marriage. Like his forefathers, he wants one. Aishwarya likes Vivek but doesn't agree with his old-fashioned views on love.

The film also stars Suniel Shetty and Dia Mirza in important cameos who turn out at the climax of the film to form the surprise element. It's a romantic comedy with some great music by Shankar, Ehsaan, Loy.

For the film, Aishwarya had to get her hair curled, which took about two hours. "I had to endure it and my hairdressers worked hard as a wig looks like a wig and we did not want that," she said.

"At times it is not possible, like I settled for a hairpiece for Binodini in 'Choker Bali' as she needed long till the knee.

Right from my first movie I have never used any wig and even tried to avoid a hairpiece," she said.
