Naseeruddin Shah created a panic situation when he collapsed while shooting and was subsequently airlifted from Coorg to Bangalore's Manipal hospital. Everyone assumed the worse -- a heart related problem -- but doctors later confirmed it was due to exertion.
Shah was brought to Bangalore on Tuesday night after he complained of dizziness while shooting for Vishal Bhardwaj's Saath Khoon Maaf in Arameri, near Virajpet, in Coorg -- about 280 kilometres from Bangalore.
Sudden exit
Soon after his diagnosis, the actor left the hospital without informing doctors. He had specifically made a request that he was not to be disturbed and visitors should not be allowed into his room.
"We had acted accordingly, " said H Sudarshan Ballal, director and chairman of Medical Advisory Board.
"But today we have found that he has left, " said Ballal. Naseer's sudden disappearance has surprised the hospital staff. Sources said that the doctors attending upon Naseer were in a meeting when he walked out of the hospital.
The actor has been camped for a 40- day shooting schedule in a 100- year-old British bungalow in Arameri, along with Priyanka Chopra and John Abraham.
"He was brought by a helicopter to the HAL airport, where an ambulance picked him up. A team of three doctors immediately did a check up. All test reports have come normal. He is very fit for his age and will be back to acting soon, " said Ballal.
"There are usually three reasons for dizziness. Neurological disorder, problem of ear or heart." continues Ballal. "But in his case it was due to exertion." The docs advised him four to five days of rest and were to do a last set of check ups before discharging him but the actor didn't give them a chance to do so and 'checked out' without informing anyone.
RATNA RUSHES
Ratna Pathak Shah, who was in Goa shooting for Golmaal 3, rushed to Bangalore to be by her hubby Naseer's side when she heard about his collapse. She is slated to be back in Goa today, reassured that there is no serious health concern.
