The negative reviews and poor ratings by critics for his recently released movie "Kites" have not affected filmmaker Rakesh Roshan.

"Everybody has their own view point. If I like something, it is not necessary that others will like it too," Rakesh Roshan told reporters here Sunday.

"We have not received good reviews here, but the film has been immensely appreciated overseas. Our film must have had something that it has done Rs.21 crore business on its opening day."

He was here at the Great India Place mall for the post-release promotion of "Kites" along with son Hrithik Roshan and Mexican actress Barbara Mori who play main leads in the movie.

"We respect everybody's view point and I thank all the critics for whatever they have said," said Hrithik.

Directed by Anurag Basu, "Kites", a romantic saga about an Indian guy and a Spanish girl, was released Friday. The film was distributed by Reliance BIG Pictures.
