The cricketers - Yusuf Pathan, Abhishek Raut, Faiz Fazal, Siddharth Trivedi, Kamran Khan and Naman Ojha - will test their vocal chords and shake a leg with the jury and contestants of "Indian Idol 5" in an episode to be aired Monday.
Playback singer Sunidhi Chauhan, composers Annu Malek and Salim Merchant are judging the show. The initiative has been taken to bring cricket and music on a common platform.
"As a complete family entertainment channel, we believe in offering and creating opportunities to excite and entertain our viewers. The tie-up with Rajasthan Royals will highlight a unique amalgamation of our nation's biggest passions - cricket and music," Danish Khan, marketing head of Sony TV, said in a press statement.
A Rajasthan Royals' spokesperson said the team and the show are bound by a common string - to provide opportunities to new talent.
"The Royals have always given an opportunity to young cricketers to showcase their talent and to make a name for themselves and 'Indian Idol' is India's biggest platform which gives every Indian an opportunity to realize their dreams. Thus it is a perfect fit," said Raghu Iyer, chief marketing officer, Rajasthan Royals.
