Suniel Shetty, the once 'action-hero' has truly matured and has become an actor, in the truest sense of the term. He
was presented with the SAIFF (South Asia International Film Festival) award in the year 2009 in the category 'Best
Actor' for his depiction of the character in the film Red Alert: The War Within.
He started off his Bollywood career with Balwaan in the year 1992, where he was simply was dismissed as a
"wooden actor".
He had been dissed and slammed by critics from every left, right and center. He has
managed not just to survive but make a mark in the industry where he has seen the good and bad days of his almost
20-year-old Bollywood career.
The film Dhadkan released in 2000 fetched him the Filmfare award in the 'Best Villain' category.
Shetty, a multi-faceted personality, is a Black Belt holder in kick boxing. He is also a hotelier and an entrepreneur
as well. This actor has also produced flicks under his banner 'Popcorn Entertainment'.
He has shown
versatility in the portrayal of his characters in the movies like Awara Paagal Deewana, Hera Pheri and Phir Hera
Pheri, which are all comedy flicks.
