The 67-year-old received a warm welcome from all three finalists - Sreeram Chandra, Rakesh Maini and Bhoomi Trivedi as they belted out some of his well-known songs. When Amitabh stepped on to the "Indian Idol" stage, he was sporting enough to shake a leg on "Say Shava Shava" from his film "Kabhie Khushi Kabhi Gham".
Dressed in a formal suit, Amitabh praised the show, and said that he is a regular viewer. He made it a point to mention that his wife, veteran actress Jaya Bachchan is a big fan of the show too, and that they try not missing a single episode.
The finalists were elated with his presence and his benevolence to share the stage with them, as were the show's judges - Annu Malek, Salim Merchant and Sunidhi Chauhan.
Amitabh even decided to play a random round of "Kaun Banega Crorepati" (KBC) with the finalists, whereby he asked all three of them to test his knowledge about "Indian Idol", which airs on Sony TV.
Amitabh was invited to award the winner Sreeram. His show KBC will go on air on Sony in October.
