Melody queen Lata Mangeshkar, who has lent her mellifluous voice to almost all great actresses of
the Indian film world, Tuesday turned 75.
Lata has sung for Madhubala to Madhuri and her sweet voice today stands immortalised through its
appeal.
Born in 1929 in the family of doyen of Marathi natyasangeet Dinnanth Mangeshkar, Lata was groomed
by Ustad Aman Ali and then by Ustad Amanath Khan and P L Tulsidas Sharma.
Inspired by Noorjehan and K L Saigal, Lata went on to carve a niche for herself.
Be it unforgettable `Aayega Aayega Aanewala' or famous `Aye Mere Watan Ke Logon', her songs like
'Lag Ja Gale, Raina Beeti Jaye' have set her a class apart.
