"Basic Instinct", which shocked in the 1990s with Sharon Stone's brazen sexuality, is returning to Indian screens dubbed as "Khatarnak Chahat".
The Hindi version of the murder thriller starring Stone and Michael Douglas will be released Oct 1.
The Paul Verhoeven directed and Alan Marshall produced film would be released across the country. Written by Joe Eszterhas, it was first released in 1992 and quickly became a major hit.
It is also the biggest hit of Sharon Stone. Her famous pose in a tiny white dress with a cigarette in her hand made her a tinsel town queen.
The release of "Basic Instinct" in Hindi comes even as Bollywood is experimenting with bolder films.
In the past few months, a spate of films laden with kissing and raunchy sexuality - previously unheard
of in Bollywood - have been released.
"Basic Instinct" deals with psychological manipulation and its repercussions and was called "a gigantic
mind game that extends into the bedroom - a strange and twisted love story about homicidal
impulse".
When Nick Curran (Douglas) begins investigation on the murder of a once-celebrated rock star, he
makes a few astonishing discoveries.
A bloody ice pick, a white silk scarf tied to a bedpost, and evidence of an otherwise romantic evening -
all lead to the involvement of three women - novelist Catherine Tramell (Stone), Catherine's girlfriend
Roxy (Leilani Sarelle), and Beth Gartner (Jeanne Tripplehorn), a police psychologist counselling
Nick.
