The recent controversy circles around the song 'Jor ka Jhatka haye jor se laga', from the recently released Bollywood film Action Replayy.
Kumar Bhabesh, an Assamese music composer-singer alleged that the song is a copy of his composition that was released nearly seven years ago, reports said.
He added that the tune of the first stanza of Pritam's composition has a strong resemblance with his composition 'Dehati lahi lahi' from the album 'Sunpahi' and the tune of the second stanza is a copy of one of his song 'Aahana kothabor...pohila Ramzanote' from the album 'Roja', that was released two years back in 2008.
For Pritam, who started his Bollywood journey in flying colours by churning out blockbuster compositions in B-town films like- Dhoom, Life in a Metro, Singh Is Kinng, Kismat Konnection, Jab We Met, Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai, plagiarism accusations are not a new thing.
Earlier, his compositions like 'Kya Mujhe Pyar Hai' from the film Woh Lamhe, 'Miss you every day' from the film Kya Love Story Hai have been alleged to have some uncanny resemblance with tracks created by other composers.
The Assamese composer has announced that he will recourse to legal actions against Pritam.
The film Action Replayy was released recently and featured actor Akshay Kumar and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the lead roles.
The film failed to impress the audience but the song had attracted the attention of the listeners for its unique tune.
