MAHIE Gill has been very busy recently. The last few months were hectic for her, as she was wrapping up the shooting for Sahib Biwi Aur Gangster and Michael.
She has also signed up to play her first double role in Anand Mishra's Pappu Ki Love Story with Ranvir Shorey and Vinay Pathak.
Asked if the project is on the lines of Seeta Aur Geeta, she said, "No, it is quite the opposite. It is a unique concept and a very different script.
In fact, all the actors have double roles in the film. I play two different characters. One is the actual girl and the other is a fictional person from a book.
I have never attempted this kind of a role and am very excited to try it out."
Mahie says that working with Naseeruddin Shah in Ribhu Dasgupta's Michael has also been a learning experience.
"We have finished shooting the film and it was amazing. It's like working with someone who is a school of acting.
It gives me great pleasure to know that directors have confidence to bring difficult and varied scripts to me. I don't like to play the same character all over again, so anything that is different is always welcome, " she said.
After her guest appearance in Dabangg, she keeps getting offers to do item songs and cameos.
She said, "I am open to anything that's rewarding. I had done a really good item song in Sanjay Dutt's Knockout, but it got cut at the edit.
Even though my role in Dabangg wasn't that big, Salman promised me to cast in one of his films. He's so encouraging and supportive.
Even though he's busy, whenever we meet he always talks about working together."
