THE usually dour and serious Ajay Devgn appeared to have found his humor back on the couch of Karan Johar's chat show, Koffee With Karan (which aired on Star World on January 30). The show has never seen a guest get so catty.
Ajay, whose film, Dil Toh Bachcha Hai Ji released yesterday, spared no one from his rapier-sharp, cutting wit - including his Rajneeti co-star Ranbir Kapoor and good buddy Salman Khan.
Says a source from the channel, "Normally known to be reserved, Ajay appeared to have cast aside all his inhibitions on this show.
Initially Devgn said that he didn't want to come on Koffee because he was scared that Karan Johar would ask him controversial questions. But, Ajay said quite a lot as he got into the flow of the conversation."
The source adds, "It's become quite fashionable to pull down Ranbir Kapoor on KWK these days. Deepika Padukone and Sonam Kapoor did it earlier and now even Ajay did not spare Ranbir.
In the rapid-fire section, Karan asked Ajay what was he most likely to find in Ranbir Kapoor's bedroom. Ajay said with a straight face, "I don't know what I will find, who I will find and how many I will find!' referring to Ranbir's so-called many girlfriends. Even Karan was stunned with Ajay's frankness and for a second didn't know where to look."
Ajay even joked about the bad boy with a heart of gold, Salman Khan. "When KJo asked Ajay what he expected to find in Salman's bedroom, Ajay replied blandly, "I am likely to find 'dumb-bells' in Salman's bedroom.'
Though Karan burst out laughing at that, he was in splits when Ajay was asked what would be the best title for Salman's biography. Ajay replied promptly, "Trying to be human!"
Karan appeared quite taken aback by Ajay's humor and wit. "Karan has known Ajay only as his close friend Kajol's husband.
On the show KJo was pleasantly surprised to find this new witty side to AJ (as Kajol calls Devgn). Ajay said at the end of the show that he hoped no one's feelings got hurt because it was meant to be taken lightly and in good humour."
