Priyanka Chopra has donned a grey avatar for Vishal Bharadwaj's new film 7 Khoon Maaf, where she will be seen romancing seven heroes and then, be responsible for their deaths. The actor in conversation with Sreya Basu.

You play wife to seven actors in 7 Khoon Maaf and there were quite a few intimate scenes with them. How comfortable were you shooting them?
Here we are talking about marriages and I don't know of any marriage without intimacy. And I think if you want to show love and pain, it comes with a lot of other emotions. There is never an isolated emotion of love or hatred or anger or intimacy.

When you are showing a scene, I am an actor playing a particular character, I would go to the extent I am comfortable. This film is all about Vishal Sir's (Bharadwaj) conception.

How was it sharing screen with actors like Naseeruddin Shah, Annu Kapoor and Irrfan Khan?
It was very nerve-racking initially because I had never worked with any of them. Annu Sir I had known for a while. I had done a workshop with Naseeruddin Sir right before I started the film, which really helped me because he himself is an institution of cinema.

Irrfan is tremendously talented and we started the first schedule of the film with him. It was a tricky edge for me because I was playing a woman in the age group of 37-40 years. It's very difficult age group to play. So, I was very nervous and I completely relied on my director to take me through that...and he did.

Shahrukh Khan, after seeing a few scenes from 7 Khoon Maaf, said you are a She-ro (female hero). What do you have to say on that?
I think he is being too kind to me.

You seem to be very disturbed with the news of recent Income Tax raids at your residence...
It's shocking for me...the way unsubstantiated and source-based news are produced as reality. You hear some rumours and make that front-page news. Neither you find out if there is any truth in the news, nor ask the person what's reality, nor substantiate it with proper paper works.

This kind of thing has happened to me for the first time in my career. I am deeply hurt; and it has deeply affected me. I have told what I had to say. Further, I would continue cooperating with investigating authorities.

As far as the news of Rs 6 crore been discovered from my residence goes, neither there was money under my mattress, nor have I seen so much cash. I have already issued my statement to the media and I don't think there is need to say more.

There were reports that Shahid Kapoor was present at the time of IT raids to support you. How true was this?
My mom was not at home at the time and Shahid lives three minutes away from my place. So, yes, I called him because there was nobody else I could call at that time and could come immediately. He was there when this happened.
