Katrina, Priyanka and Deepika are in contention to star opposite Aamir Khan in Dhoom 3

With Aamir Khan playing the baddie in Dhoom 3; the race is on to find him a leading lady. Kareena Kapoor is out of reckoning as she's doing Reema Katgi's film with the actor.

Katrina Kaif, Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone are being considered for the role.

What makes her a Contender: Hasn't done an action film yet. She has the looks and the body but has never attempted a physically challenging role. AK and Kat make for an interesting pairing, since she has only worked with one other Khan - Salman. She's in perfect shape right now.

What works against her: Her Barbie doll image goes against her. Also she would need to polish her dialogue delivery and acting skills to be in the same frame as Aamir. Knowing his penchant for being a perfectionist, Kat would have to be ready for some serious groundwork.

Contender: Priyanka Chopra

Action films: Don, Drona, hosted Fear Factor 3

What makes her a Contender: Has never worked with Aamir, so this would offer novelty value. PC has proved she can kick serious butt, in Don (martial arts) and Drona (sword fighting).

Given her dedication to prepare for a role, she would go all out to master whatever physical task or challenge she's given.

What works against her: An action film is too obvious a choice for PiggyChops. Also the fact that she's doing action in the Don sequel might also prove as a setback to get another role on the same lines.

Contender: Deepika Padukone

Action Films: Chandni Chowk To China, Lafangey Parindey

What makes her a Contender: Has one of the best bodies in the industry. Being extremely athletic and a sportsperson are assets to bagging a role in the action film. The role requires someone who's sexy yet intense.

Dippy has it in the right proportions. Her role in Lafangey Parindey (for the banner) required her to learn roller-skating.

Her grit and determination to get into character didn't go unnoticed by Aditya Chopra.

What works against her: The height difference between Aamir and her. Being the juniormost actor among the three could also work against her.
