"They were cast on the basis of script, not because we have worked together. They though...I thought that these characters are very interesting, very different from Bittu and Shruti and it is exciting for actors to do different things. We are all excited about the script and the new world that hopefully we will create, " Maneesh told.
The film is going on floor this month.
"Most of the 'Band Baaja Baaraat' members are back in the film. Along with the producer (Aditya Chopra), the music director (Salim-Suleiman), I am again working with almost the same crew I worked in 'Band Baaja Baaraat', " said Sharma.
Giving a sneak peak into the film's story, he said: "Can't say much about the film, but Ranveer is playing a conman. He finds the match in Anushka. The genre, the flavour, the character are nothing close to 'Band Baaja Baaraat', which is also very exciting. It's a different world."
Sharma says he was not involved in the writing part of the script.
"It's Adi's (Aditya Chopra) story, Devika (Bhagat) has written the screenplay and Habib (Faizal) has written the dialogue. I am not involved in the writing of the film at all, " he said.
Asked if he finds himself burdened with expectation, he said: "I don't deny the fact that there would be lots of expectations from me after the success of 'Band Baaja Baaraat'. But while making another film, I cannot think about that. I have to be as original, as honest as 'Band Baaja Baaraat', so I will try and avoid thinking about expectations."
