Rohit Shetty casts 15 Marathi actors for Singham

After taking audiences on a laughter ride with "Golmaal" series, director Rohit Shetty is returning to action-thriller with "Singham" and has roped in as many as 15 Marathi actors for the movie.

"Singham" is a remake of hit Tamil movie of the same name and stars Ajay Devgn as a police officer along with southern star Kajal Aggarwal.

Marathi actors Ashok Saraf, Sachin Khedekar, Sonali Kulkarni, Anant Jogue, Vijay Patkar, Agasthya Dhanorkar, Suchitra Bandekar, Jayant Sawarkar, Suhasini Deshpande, Meghna Vaidya, Ashok Samarth, Kishore Nandlaskar, Ravindra Berde, Pradeep Welankar and Hemu Adhikari will also feature in the movie, which will have Maharashtra as its backdrop.

The director has teamed up with composers Ajay-Atul, a regular in Marathi films. "Singham" will hit screens July 22.

Rohit debuted as a director with action-thriller Zameen in 2003, but after that he shifted focus on comedies.
