Ace filmmaker Shyam Benegal's big budget film "Bose - The Forgotten Hero" is complete and is slated
for release in February.
"It has cost Rs.210 million ($4.7 million) and has been shot in India, Germany, Indonesia and Uzbekistan and
includes an international cast comprising actors from India, Germany, Britain, Afghanistan and Japan,"
Benegal told reporters here Saturday.
The film looks deep into the period from 1940 to 1945 when Netaji left India for Germany and then reached
Indonesia.
"Bose is being played by Sachin Khedekar, a veteran theatre artiste from Mumbai. After nearly 18 months of
shooting, he is having a difficult coming out of the role!" said Benegal who was in the city to inaugurate the
9th International Film Festival of Kerala.
Rajan Kothari, who has worked on four of Benegal's previous films, handles the camera this time too.
Surendra Rajan, who excelled in "Munnabhai M.B.B.S.", plays the character of Mahatma Gandhi.
Seventy percent of the film is in English and the rest in Hindi. It will also have subtitles in English and
Hindi.
