Prateik-starrer Milan Talkies has been put off yet again. The film was to go on floors last year.
Says director Tigmanshu Dhulia, "We plan to go on floors sometime next year." So what caused the inordinate delay?
He reveals, "Prateik has no dates. First he was busy with Dhobi Ghat and later with Dum Maaro Dum. He is now shooting Gautham Menon's untitled next.
I was done with Sahib Biwi Aur Gangster and instead of waiting, decided to start work on Jai Ramji."
A reliable source offers other reasons, "The director found it tough to finance the film and there were apprehensions over Prateik's ability to carry such a costly film on his shoulders."
Tigmanshu recently met Ekta Kapoor and narrated the script to her. The Balaji producer, who is fond of the Jaane Tu Jaane Na actor, loved the premise and is keen to produce the film."
Ekta confirms that they are "in talks" but tersely adds, "nothing is decided yet. We are still working out the formalities."
Prateik's official spokesperson maintains, "We have been waiting for a script from Tigmanshu's office for over a year.
He was busy with the post-production of Pan Singh Tomar and we waited. We still don't have the script. Unfortunately before anything could be finalised, Dhulia's producer backed out."
