Union Minister for Power Sushil Kumar Shinde's daughter Smriti Shinde has brought Shilpa Shirodkar back. She has roped in the former actress in her reality show Bole To Malamaal on a Marathi channel.
Shilpa, who was known for her roles in Mritiyudand, Khuda Gawah, Choti Bahu and Gopi Kishan disappeared from the film industry in 2000 after tying the knot with a businessman.
Being a commoner
BTM is being produced by Smriti's production house, SOBO films along with Imtiaz Punjabi and Vikas Gulati. Besides Shilpa, they have also roped in popular Marathi actors like Siddharth Jadhav, Swapnil Bandodkar, Atul Parchure, etc.
According to the show's format, celebs are to step into the shoes of a common man for a day and work as anyone from a taxi driver, laundry man to a vegetable seller.
No influence
Also, contrary to the rumors that Smriti had used her father's ministerial clout to get her show sanctioned by the channel, Smriti says that her father was not aware of what she was doing till he came to know about her show after the promos were aired.
