The Bengali actor, who was born in Kolkata as Gouranga Chakraborty became popular in the film industry as Mithun Chakraborty.
Although he was best known for his dance moves that were imitated by millions of his fans in the 70s and 80s (known more as the disco age of B-town), but a young Mithun had spell-bounded the audience by his acting talent in his debut film 'Mrigaya' which fetched him National Film Award for Best Actor.
His dance moves and his own unique dialogue delivery in films like 'Disco Dancer', 'Dance Dance' and 'Agneepath' made him the popular face of the matinee shows in India.
In recent years he re-appeared on the silver screen with films like-'Guru', 'Heroes', 'Chandni Chowk To China','Luck' and 'Golmaal 3'.
But more than films, he is now-a-days seen judging dance reality shows like 'Dance Bangla Dance Junior; on the small screen.
