It was bound to happen sooner or later, given his mass appeal and penchant for train sequences in his movies. The Indian Railways, we hear, has approached Salman Khan to be their brand ambassador.
Says a source close to the actor, "The Indian Railways is used as a mode of transport by a very large number of population. And, as a star, Salman has a huge appeal among the masses. So it's a perfect brand fit."
The source further points out, "His movies like Tere Naam, Wanted, Dabangg ¦ all have important scenes in trains or railway platforms."
Apparently, even in his forthcoming Eid release, Bodyguard, the actor will be seen bashing up villains against the backdrop of the railway station.
When contacted for a confirmation of the Indian Railways' brand ambassador offer to Salman, his business manager declined to comment.
"It's too premature to talk anything about it right now, " was all she was willing to say.
