The cast and crew of Vikram Bhatt's forthcoming Rab Jaisa Koi were in for a rude shock recently, when locals of Dholpur in Rajasthan stormed the sets and asked them to leave their village immediately.
Apparently they were unhappy with the subject of the film, which talks about a young girl being constantly sexually abused by a powerful personality (played by Manoj Bajpai) in the village.
Director of the film Maqbool Khan recounts, "All I was told is that I can't shoot such a film in their village because it may show the village in a bad light."
Left with no option, as it wouldn't be possible to do this extensive shoot without the support of locals, the entire crew packed up overnight and moved to Bijnor in Uttar Pradesh to resume the shoot.
Bhatt, who is the producer of this film, also confirms this incident. "Yes, it's true that the cast and crew of the film had to shift from Dholpur to Bijnor because of some local threats," he says.
Rab Jaisa Koi, which also stars Arjan Bajwa and Tia Bajpai, is scheduled to hit the screens on November 4.
