VJ-turned-actor Rannvijay Singh refuses to play second fiddle to Shahid

Shahid Kapoor may be the bigger star, but for VJ-turned-actor Rannvijay Singh this was not reason enough for him to play second fiddle to the former for a home appliance brand.

He reasons, "Keeping in mind my fan following as a VJ and TV shows like Roadies and Stunt Mania as well as my upcoming solo lead in Mod, I felt I should not do something that doesn't give me that space.

What's the point of me doing an ad when someone else has been signed to endorse the product?"

On a new Mod

A source further adds, "Rannvijay asserted that he was playing the male lead in Nagesh Kukunoor's next. So he wondered what made the agency think he'd play second fiddle to Shahid Kapoor."

Interestingly, he has apparently shot for a commercial with B-Town's hottest newbie Anuskha Sharma for a Reliance brand.

"Since he was playing the main lead in this commercial with Anushka, he agreed to do the ad, " says the source.
