Tamil superstar Rajnikanth has scotched rumours that "Chandramukhi" will be his last film.

Rajni said he had just become "selective" about his films and was "looking for some variety in the commercial format".

Talking soon after performing a religious ritual here for the Telugu version of "Chandramukhi", the superstar claimed the bilingual "Chandramukhi" would be "a different" film, though a commercial one.

Shooting for the film's Telugu version, produced by Karunakar Reddy and Parthasarsthy, will begin at the Ramoji Film City here after the cast is finalised.

Jyothika is the only actress to be signed for the film so far. According to Rajni, hers will be an important role.

"If 'Baba' (Rajni's last film that bombed at the box office) revolved around spiritualism, 'Chandramukhi' has a woman as the central theme," said Rajni.
