Genelia buzzes off 'ban' rumour

Bubbly B-town actor Genelia D'souza denied reports that she has been banned from the southern film industry for her non- corporation with Movie Artistes' Association (MAA) and not becoming a member of it.

Genelia tweeted, "It's not nice when people make u a target only because you are strong enough to take it. With no bans or notices issued against me, there's no reason why there should be this hoopla created."

"With no bans or notices issued against me, there's no reason why there shud be this hoopla created, " she posted on micro- blogging site Twitter.

She said, "When I signed up 4the south Indian association for movie artists I was promised that it would cover all 4 industries and that is also a body states (sic), "

Mentioning about her reasons behind not submitting the form, she said: "I have bn travellin constantly over d last few months n hence hav informed some1 from my production 2hand over all d papers w d reqd amount.Whn I signed up 4d south indian association4movie artists I was promised that it would cover all 4industries n dat is also wat d body states."

"I hope ppl understand D truth and stop making this an unnecess battle.Im v.happy n proud dat I belong2 5 industries and hope ppl undstnd dat, " she tweeted.

Genelia D'souza, who has been working in the Southern film industry for quite some time now, has not gained lifetime membership with the association.

Earlier, media reports said that MAA of Andhra Pradesh had sent several notices to the actress but she did not respond to any of them.

The MAA officials later sent a notice to the producers of the industry urging them not to take the actor in their future projects.

Genelia has gained praises for her performances in Bollywood for movies like 'Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na', 'Life Partner', 'Chance Pe Dance', 'Force' and some of her Kollywood hits are 'Bommarillu', 'Santosh Subramaniam', and 'Katha'.
