Eyebrows have been raised by news reports that Kareena Kapoor and Bobby Deol are being brought together
in Suneel Darshan's new film "Dost", which began filming Tuesday at Filmalaya studios here.
After a noisy and widely reported fall-out during the making of Abbas-Mustan's "Ajnabee", both Bobby and
Kareena had sworn never to work with each other.
So what made them bury the hatchet?
"Not quite!" laughed Akshay Kumar, who is a favourite of the Darshan brothers. He is currently working on older
brother Suneel's "Mere Jeevan Saathi", while younger brother Dharmesh's "Bewafaa" is ready for release.
Akshay tells: "It's true that Kareena is a part of the cast in 'Dosti'. But she isn't paired with Bobby.
"Bobby is paired with Lara Dutta. Kareena is paired with me. After 'Aitraaz' and 'Bewafaa' we've become quite
an inseparable on screen."
So, for now the Kareena-Bobby cold war is still very much on. But by the time "Dosti" is over, one suspects the
duo will be singing a different tune.
Suneel Darshan said: "I'm shooting with Akshay, Bobby and Lara now. Kareena, who's in Bangkok, joins us
Wednesday.
"I've finished shooting 'Mere Jeevan Saathi' with Karisma and Akshay. My 'Barsaat' with Bobby and Priyanka is
also nearly complete.
"Hence a film with Akshay and Kareena seems almost inevitable. I feel Akshay, Kareena and now, Bobby, are
part of my filmmaking family.
"In fact I think this is the only way to make films. You've to work with people with whom you share a comfort
level.
"It's the only way to survive in these times of recession when the biggest films are flopping. I'm blessed to have
as many as three big projects on the anvil."
