The expected box office battle between sci-fi adventures "War of the Worlds" and "Fantastic Four" on their
opening weekends has been called off.
The release of "Fantastic Four" has been pushed to July 8, which leaves the July 4 holiday weekend free for
Steven Speilberg's Tom Cruise starrer "War of the Worlds", The Guardian reported quoting Variety.
The rescheduling of "Fantastic Four", which features TV star Michael Chiklis in the lead, will now open
against the new version of "Bewitched" starring Nicole Kidman and Will Ferrell.
Another comedy remake, Jim Carrey's "Fun With Dick and Jane", has been removed from the summer
schedule altogether. It is now to be released as "holiday comedy" around Dec 21.
