After the tremendous success of Yamla Pagla Deewana, which resurrected the dying careers of the Deols, Sunny Deol understandably doesn't want to take any risk with the much-awaited sequel. The actor/producer has, apparently, rejected five drafts of the film's script so far.
A source reveals, "The success of YPD has set a high benchmark for the sequel. Sunny wants the sequel to be a notch higher than the original in every possible way and he understands that the script of the film has to be outstanding.
He has hired a team of writers to come up with the drafts for the movie script. The actor has become super demanding and has rejected several drafts so far."
The source adds, "The team of writers is having tough time trying to please the actor. They are having sleepless nights to come up with a draft that matches his expectations."
New direction
Samir Karnik, who directed Yamla Pagla Deewana, will not be helming the sequel since he had a fall-out with the Deols. Betaab director Rahul Rawail will now direct the film.
