Bollywood actor Shakti Kapoor was in the city on Tuesday to shoot for his upcoming Bengali film "Gundaraj".

The movie directed by Sanjay Banerjee will portray Kapoor as a corrupt MLA.

Kapoor said: "We are making a movie that caters to Indian politics and the power game played by politicians."

Speaking about his character, Kapoor said: "I am essaying a powerful MLA for whom MLA stands for ‘Maal luto Aram se' (rob money coolly)."

Raja Goswami, who shot to fame with Bengali serial ‘Valobasha dot com' has been paired with Oriya actress Oriya Megha Ghosh in the movie.

"I am playing the role of Proloy. He is a college student who is trying to take revenge against the system. Here, MLA is the system," Raja said.

Raja, who is popular as ‘Om' (the character he plays in the serial) among the audiences, said he is nervous about his new introduction as Proloy.

"This will work as an advantage for me. Now, the audiences will catch the movie to check how Om is working in cinema," he said.

"When I was working in the serial I was getting many offers but I wanted a character that has no similarity with Om," he added.

Megha will be essaying Kapoor's high-chin daughter Hiya who falls in love with Proloy.

Oindrilla Banerjee, who is enacting the hero's sister in the film, said: "Proloy will take revenge of the brutal murder of me, my husband and child in the film."

Jawed Ali, Shaan and June Banerjee have done playback in the film.

Big Boss participant Sambhavna Seth has added glamour to the film with her sizzling item number.
