After having relaunched Karisma Kapoor, Vikram Bhatt has now set his eyes on Aftab Shivdasani. The writer-director has decided to focus on his next production venture — the sequel to his horror film, 1920, which stars the star.
Says Vikram, "My film with Karisma is out. It's now Aftab for me. I will now concentrate on this project. The shoot is complete and in the coming weeks chalk out a strategy for it."
For the past few years, Aftab's film front has not been happening. Last seen in forgettable films like Players and Bin Bulaaye Baraati, the actor's attempt to turn producer with Aa Wish Karein in 2009 also proved disastrous.
He is apparently looking at Vikram's horror flick as yet another attempt to find a foothold in Bollywood. Vikram chose Aftab over Rajneish Duggal (a regular fixture in his movies) who featured in 1920. The film which released in 2008 revolved around the events surrounding a married couple living in a haunted house.
It is the first time that Aftab is part of a horror flick, and has worked with Vikram in several films earlier like Deewane Huye Pagal, Awara Pagal Deewana and Kasoor.
The horror film which has been shot in Sweden has Tia Bajpai as his co-star. Adds Vikram, "The film has been directed by Bhushan Patel, who was my assistant. There is more evil than the first part in this one. The film depicts Aftab in new light. I am sure he will be noticed."
