This model-turned-actor hogged the limelight for giving steamy scenes with Bipasha. The film was one of the top grossers of the year 2003 but the actor didn't gain much from the film's success.
His career took off after the smashing success of Dhoom, released last year. His popularity soared up and most of the Bollywood biggies roped him in for their upcoming projects. To name a few, he is doing Karan Johar's future production Kaal. The buzz is that Karan Johar is so impressed with John's work in Kaal that he has given the dashing hunk a role in his directorial venture Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna.
Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna, which also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan, Rani Mukerji, Preity Zinta and Abhishek Bachchan.
Besides, John is also working with Baghban director Ravi Chopra. The director was desperately searching for a suitable replacement to play Rani's husband in his next film Babul. He approached all the leading actors, to no avail. It was John Abraham who came for his rescue. When Chopra approached him for the role he had no reservations, since he thinks it's a fantastic part.
Babul is an unconventional film. It's about widow remarriage, where widowed Rani's in-laws, Amitabh and Hema Malini, are keen on finding a suitable husband for her. John plays the role of a guy who Amitabh Bachchan finds as the other husband for Rani.
Above and beyond Bollywood, he is involved with other non-filmi projects. Recently the actor was designated the New York Jets' franchise player with a one-year deal worth $6.7 million.
On the personal front, he is a happy man courting girl friend Bipasha whom he proposed in a very 'fimi andaz' in Hyderabad. Both are serious about each other and would tie the knot very soon.
Great going John! Keep it up.
