Speculation about their wedding date has been doing the rounds for a while. Saif's mother, veteran actress Sharmila Tagore, had even been quoted as saying that the marriage will take place Oct 16, but nobody else confirmed it.
Latest reports suggest Kareena had developed cold feet about the October wedding as she wants to concentrate on her film projects.
But when asked about her marriage plans at the launch of the trailer of her film "Heroine", she said: "Let's wait for Saif to make the official announcement."
Not 'getting into anyone's shoes'
Currently, Kareena is busy spreading the buzz about her film, Madhur Bhandarkar's "Heroine". It is a special film for her. She is thrilled to be playing the lead and says the film marks an important part of her journey as an actress.
"It has always been my dream to become a heroine. My journey has been fantastic but it would not be complete without Madhur Bhandarkar's 'Heroine'," she said.
Her character in the film is named Mahi. Kareena says she is very different from the 'heroine' in the film.
"My character of Mahi is eccentric, edgy and over emotional. I am also a bit over emotional at times but other than that, I am not like her at all. I deal with situations differently than how she deals with them," she said.
Bebo says she is not trying to copy anyone in her forthcoming film "Heroine", the first trailer of which has raised inevitable comparisons with Vidya Balan's look in "The Dirty Picture".
In a way both films hit at the same subject - the fate, rise and fall of an actress. While Vidya scored a blockbuster with "The Dirty Picture", Kareena and "Heroine" director Madhur Bhandarkar insist no comparisons must be made.
"I am not getting into anybody's shoes. I am very comfortable in my own and I would say that no one will get into mine either," Kareena said at the trailer launch held here Wednesday evening.
She also said that "Heroine" has nothing similar to "The Dirty Picture", and that it is "unfair" to compare the two.
Pointing out the difference between the two films, Bhandarkar said: "I liked 'The Dirty Picture'. The film was about the rise of an item girl in the 1980s. Our film is more modern in its approach. The two films are very different and you cannot compare them."
"There have been so many films based on underworld. Also so many cop films have come like 'Singham' and 'Dabangg', but no one compares them. Then why are people comparing these two films," he added.
Produced by UTV Motion Pictures, "Heroine", releasing Sep 21, also features Arjun Rampal.
