In the meanwhile, Sanju has signed yet another film, for which he will don the khaki once again!

The Hindi remake of the Tamil film Saamy has him play a roughneck cop. He combines both the bad cop-good cop act with a bit of a comic touch his character prefers to tuck into idlis along with a peg.

The star begins shooting for the film from August 20. The makers are having a 52-day schedule in Hyderabad where a special set is being erected. The film is directed by K S Ravikumar and marks the Tamil director's Bollywood debut. Ravikumar had earlier directed the Kamal Haasan starrer Dasavathaaram.

Producer T P Aggarwal who is currently in Chennai for the pre-production says, `Sanjay Dutt considers this project very close to his heart. He will be seen in a new avatar as a cop. His character is loud and riotous.` The original Saamy had released in 2003 and starred Vikram and Trisha. It was a box office success.
