Sanjay Dutt, who is presently shooting in Hyderabad for the Hindi remake of a Tamil film, appears to be a changed man on the sets. In B-Town, Dutt is known to be a habitual latecomer on the sets and shooting according to his whims due to his star status.
With him on the sets, these things are taken for granted and no one complains. But after shooting with South director K S Ravikumar, who makes his Bollywood debut with the project, Dutt seems to be imbibing the South style of working.
It is perhaps the first time in the history of Sanjay's acting career that the actor shot for six scenes in a day!
Says a unit source, `Sanjay Dutt himself has been saying aloud that he can't remember when or which director in his life had made him shoot like this. Even the makers can't believe that this is the same actor with whom directors had trouble finishing two scenes with him in the past.`
The source adds, `He not only comes on time but stays till the director is totally happy with his work. He has been further heard saying that he now understands how South stars like Rajnikanth and Kamal Haasan work as Ravikumar has directed both of them in his films.`
Producer Rahul Aggarwal says, `People may have a particular opinion about Sanjay Dutt but that's not true with this project. The director is extremely happy with his work.`
Dutt has Prachi Desai as his co-star in the film. The Tamil version Saamy, which released in 2003 starred Vikram and Trisha.
