The award ceremony was held as a part of the FICCI-Frames 2005 event held here from April 4-6.
Shammi Kapoor, who once set a trend of his style and fashion among the youth was overwhelmed by the recognition.
"I feel I see a lot of love in your eyes and all the people over here who come and wish with all their love and adulation you have. It means that I have done something worthy of the praise that you have given me," said Shammi Kapoor, a legendary bollywood actor Waheeda Rehman, better known as ‘Chaudhvi the chand' was not able to make it to the award function but her daughter conveyed her mother's happiness on getting the award.
"It is very great. It is great to share the stage with the great legend Shammi Kapoor and a life time achievement award is always a great thing and she (Waheeda) is very happy," said Kashvi, Rehman's daughter.
Amitabh Bachchan, Hema Malini, Dev Anand, Asha Parekh, Dilip Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar, are some of the earlier recipients of the Living Legend Award. The award recognises the actors, who performed in some of the best motion pictures of the industry.
Information and Broadcasting Minister Jaipal Reddy, who presented the awards was proud regarding the honour of giving away the prizes to the legends.
"I am happy to be associated with these two awards given to Shammi and Waheeda Rehman. Not only now have they become legends, but they have been legends since my college time," said Reddy.
The convention on business entertainment, which is taking place in the city from April 4-6, is witnessing participation from various entertainment conglomerates, Information Technology majors and film fraternity. This year's theme for the convention is ‘Entertainment - It's Happening'.
FRAMES-2005 is witnessing participation from some of the biggest names in the Indian and Global media and entertainment Industry, with nearly 125 speakers addressing close to 1500 delegates from more than 20 countries. However, the highlight of this year's convention is the humongous participation by international speakers expected to provide insights into the global entertainment scenario.
The organizers, Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), is making all efforts to showcase Bollywood's prowess to the world in this annual global convention on the business of entertainment.
FRAMES 2005 will also see presentations by specialist speakers. The sessions are divided into the Animation Track, the Television track and Film Track, and other special sessions on technology, financing, marketing, Intellectual property rights, distribution, co-production and branding.
It will also deliberate on sectors like Films, Multiplexes, Television, Cable, Convergence & Broadband, Digital Entertainmen t, Radio, Live Entertainment, Music, Theme parks, Animation & Gaming.
Some of the key Indian and international personalities attending FRAMES this year would be Jon Neirman, President- Electronic Arts, Pradip Baijal, Chairman, TRAI, Rita Hayes, Deputy Director General, World Intellectual Property Organisation, N R Narayan Murthy, Chairman, Infosys technologies and Shahrukh Khan, Bollywood actor.
