One of the greatest actors of Bollywood was conspicuous by his absence from Filmfare Awards inspite of being in Mumbai. Though everyone was wondering about his being amiss at the premium award function, the reason could only be learnt last night when he tweeted to his fans and lifted the lid over the suspense.

The people close to the family obviously knew the reason but his fans were left wondering. The reason is poor health off late. We all know that the great Amitabh Bachchan is not in the pink of health and it's an open secret. Off late, he's been struggling to keep fit and it shouldn't be any surprise since he is 70 years old. Inspite of his medical condition, he's been working for long hours off late especially while recording even two episodes of KBC at a time.

However, the last one year has been very cruel to him medically. It's for this reason that he had to miss Filmfare awards ceremony, which is a premium event for who's who of the Bollywood industry. he even tweeted to this effect: Yes .. I did bring it on about my neck because that is what I told Filmfare as the reason why I could not attend the Award ceremony.

He further tweeted: The pain been in brace the entire day .. I think there is some improvement .. mostly due to old injury during climax shoot of 'DON'.

And to sum it off he went on to communicate to his fans: There are far too many problems with my system to be fretting over it... I appreciate your concern, but we must get on!

And let's all hope that our dear AB recovers soon and could entertain his audience like never before!
