On the eve of his much-awaited release "Waqt", actor Akshay Kumar Thursday said the movie was very close to depicting his life and relationship with his father.
Talking to the media at an interactive session here at a Reliance Webworld outlet, Akshay said: "The movie and its characters resemble my life and my relationship with my
father. This movie is special to me."
Akshay was earlier reported to have said that the film was "almost autobiographical" and that was one of the reasons why he had decided to take over the film's distribution
rights.
The interactive session also saw the movie's producer-director Vipul Shah, heroine Priyanka Chopra and another lead actress, Shefali Shah, talking about the film.
Answering a question about the originality of the film's story line, the director said: "I have never copied anyone's ideas. This movie is a totally original idea."
The star cast and production team also had an interactive session with the winners of a contest conducted on Reliance India Mobile's (RIM) Showtime platform across 13
cities through videoconferencing.
Though the winners and the media waited for the arrival of actor Amitabh Bachchan, who plays a major role in the movie, they were disappointed as he did not turn up.
Talking about the contest, S.P. Shukla, president - wireless products and service, RIM, said Vipul Shah had joined hands with RIM to build excitement prior to the film's
release Friday.
"Through Showtime we have had our own hits on RIM with movies like 'Khakee', 'Veer Zara', 'Swadesh', 'Dhoom' etc. We have run a series of month long contests on RIM
and today is the time for the lucky winners to get the reward," Shukla said.
