Vivek in fact has made a career out of films on male bonding.
In his new film "Kaal", he spends more time with his male co-stars Ajay Devgan and John Abraham than actresses Lara Dutta and Esha Deol.
Grins Vivek: "John and I became really close friends. He's a genuinely nice guy. And we got along really well."
In "Company" he bonded with Ajay Devgan. In "Yuva" he had Abhishek Bachchan and Ajay for company. In "Masti", Vivek whooped it up with Riteish Deshmukh and Aftab Shivdasani.
But the best is yet to come. In what seems the oddest pair of guys having a ball, Vivek and the indefatigable Sunny Deol will be seen in an out-and-out action film - Vivek's first and Sunny's umpteenth.
Sunny has been going a through a reclusive phase after his latest back surgery. He's all set to return with Rahul Rawail's comedy "Jo Bole So Nihal" in May.
Enthuses Vivek: "Sunny and I start shooting for Sachin Bajaj's actioner on May 4. I'm so excited. I've always been a great Sunny Deol fan. To me real, Hindi cinema is "Gadar" where Sunny wrenches off the water pump and uses it as a weapon. Wow! For the first time, I get to work with Sunny. I'm so excited.
"It's an adventure-comedy. I love my character, the youthful exuberance of the script and the style imagined for the film. It's going to be my showcase for some kick-ass action. It will be my first full-fledged action film. Though "Yuva" was an action film I didn't have any action to do. I want to fly across rooms and waltz in the sky. This is my fantasy come true," Vivek added.
Bajaj is a very dear friend of Vivek. They were working on another project called "Baraat". "But that didn't work out," Vivek explained.
Perhaps a solo Vivek starrer doesn't appear commercially viable after "Kisna". Hopefully, Vivek's friendship with this new director won't turn sour as it did with Shaad Ali and Samir Karnik after "Saathiya" and "Kyun... Ho Gaya Na" respectively.
Indra Kumar has also signed Vivek for his next comedy after "Masti".
"That's right," grinned Vivek. "It's an out and out laughathon called "Pyare Mohan". No double-meaning jokes this time."
