Or so we are expected to believe, if we go by declarations made by veteran producer S. Ramnathan at a press conference to announce the release of a long-forgotten project called "Zamaanat" featuring the Big B in the lead, along with Karisma Kapoor and Arshad Warsi in the romantic lead.
They, poor souls, have already been seen together in the unsuccessful TV serial "Karishma: Miracle of Destiny".
So how does Ramnathan get the media interested in his project? Simple! He conjures a bunny called Mallika Sherawat out of his cap, announcing that she'll be seen in his next film that will also feature Bachchan.
The Big B and the tempting Ms M together? That instantly got the scribblers and clickers into action.
Sometime back on the talk show Koffee With Karan, Mallika had made sighing declarations about Bachchan, confessing how she would love to run in slow motion with the mega-star. To have them together in a film sounds just like what the box office doctors ordered.
There's only one hitch. It's unlikely that two would be seen together in Ramnathan's film.
Said Bachchan: "I don't know anything about it. Ramnathan is an old friend (he produced one of Bachchan's earliest films "Bombay To Goa"). He has asked me to do another film with him. He has told me has a story idea. I don't know whether he has signed the lady (Mallika Sherawat)."
Mallika is making a career out of getting herself paired with older man. When she was working with Dharmendra in "Kiss Kiski Kismet" we didn't hear the end of her crush for the veteran star.
Now there's Jackie Chan who's supposedly quite taken by Sherawat after she stepped into "The Myth" which was first offered to Aishwarya Rai.
Now she seems to have set her sights higher. This whole question of being paired with Big B seems like another anxious attempt to steal the limelight. Recently she danced with Amitabh and Abhishek Bachchan at a concert in aid of tsunami victims. Ever since Mallika has openly admitted her admiration for the Bachchans.
But are they willing to reciprocate her affections?
