Ruslaan Mumtaz talks about the MMS scandal he was involved in while he was dating Sasha Agha

Son of yesteryear actress Anjana Mumtaz, Ruslaan is all set to appear in his next film based on the MMS scandal that spread like wildfire in Delhi a few years ago. Though the actor says he initially didn't give his nod to the project, later decided to do the film anyway as he was impressed by `the emotional story of the couple` caught in the controversy.

Perhaps it had also to do with the fact that Ruslaan himself was a victim of a similar MMS scandal a few years ago.

A source says, `The story was that he was dating Salma Agha's daughter Sasha and apparently an MMS of Sasha was leaked, where she was seen kissing another guy.


Ruslaan immediately cut off all ties with Sasha while the girl blamed Ruslaan for the controversy and leaking the MMS to the media for publicity. Ruslaan has maintained a dignified silence on the matter.`

The actor says it was the emotional angle of the upcoming film that appealed to him. Says Ruslaan, `When director Amit Kasaria offered me the film I first said no. But later when I listened to the entire script I loved it. I wonder what happens to the people who get directly affected by such a scandal.`

Speaking about the hushed rumours around him that came with the MMS scandal, Ruslaan clarifies, `I ignore it but it affects me to some extent. But in my daily life, I have forgotten all about it.`


What are his equations with his ex today? `We sorted out the issues but have never met after the MMS controversy. Even if we bump into each other in the future, we smile and go our separate ways, ` says the actor.

On the work front, the actor also has a comedy coming up post this film and also has a telly offer in his kitty.
