Exactly after hundred years of Dadasaheb Phalke's release, Akshay Kumar pays a tribute of sorts by starting his Marathi film production

The date that marked 100 years of Bollywood (May 3) also coincided with the start of the shoot schedule in London of the Marathi film, Anntar. The film is being produced by Akshay Kumar and Ashvini Yardi.

Says Yardi, `What better date than May 3 to have the first day shoot of our film? Indian cinema began with a Marathi film and we're glad to have gone full circle to launch our Marathi venture on the day.` India's first film Raja Harishchandra (1913) made by Dadasaheb Phalke had a full Maharashtrian crew.

Anntar, a socio-political drama, stars Tanishaa Mukherjee and Sumeet Raghavan. Both make their acting debut in Marathi cinema.

The cast also includes well known names of the Marathi industry which includes Mansi Salvi, Apeksha Dandekar, Vandana Gupte and Bharti Achrekar.
